The rules in one round
- Come-out roll: 7 or 11 wins the pass line, 2, 3 or 12 loses.
- Point: any other total (4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10) becomes the point.
- Point phase: the shooter rolls until the point comes again (pass wins) or a 7 appears (pass loses).

The odds bet is the only bet in the casino with no edge. The more of your stake you put behind the line as odds, the lower your overall cost.
Online craps at new casinos
RNG craps runs quickly and usually has a demo mode, which is the best place to learn. Live craps tables, such as Evolution's, use a real dice shooter and allow side bets; the minimum stake is higher.
Craps often counts at a low rate toward bonus wagering, so it is a poor way to clear a bonus.
Beginner mistakes
- Spreading chips over proposition bets because they pay 30 to 1.
- Thinking dice are 'due': each roll is independent.
- Skipping the odds bet, which lowers your average cost.
- Raising stakes after a losing roll.
